Game-changing new Travel Retail Awards for 2020
By Charlotte Turner |
The new awards comprise the following:
‘Best Green Initiative By An Airport‘ – This category is open to any and all airports who will be offered the chance to tell consumers more about their green initiatives. The initiative they enter will be judged by m1nd-set’s unique database of international travellers, in addition to our esteemed panel of bloggers.
‘Best Cruise Ship Retailer’ – Travellers recruited by m1nd-set will be asked to judge the shopping environment on their most recent cruise.
‘Best Airport Food & Beverage offer’– Consumers voting on over 60 airports, selected from each continent from m1nd-set’s unique database will be asked to rate the food and beverage offer.
“M1nd-set is absolutely delighted to continue partnering with TRBusiness for the third edition of the Travel Retail Awards,” says m1nd-set CEO and Owner, Peter Mohn.
MEANINGFUL CONSUMER FEEDBACK
“The second edition already saw a dramatic increase in the number of entries, and we have no doubt that this will continue for the 2020 edition.
“We think that the three new awards will contribute to adding even more value to the travel retail industry, and to travellers ultimately. We are especially enthusiastic about the ‘Best Green Initiative by an Airport’ award, as it is a reflection of the philosophy and vision of m1nd-set, and even more importantly, focusing on the concerns of our planet overall.”
M1nd-set has been off-setting its travel-related carbon footprint since the company was founded 12 years ago, through www.myclimate.org.
“We believe the three new awards will greatly enhance the 2020 Travel Retail Awards event, helping to deliver meaningful consumer feedback directly to even more stakeholders,” say TRBusiness Owners, Nigel Hardy and Janice Hook.
“Building on the successful 2018 and 2019 Travel Retail Awards, we know that this announcement – plus others which will follow in due course – will strengthen our position as a truly innovative B2B media provider and help us in our mission to ‘help the industry grow’.”
NEW PLATINUM SPONSOR FOR 2020
TRBusiness is also thrilled to name the first Platinum Sponsor of the 2020 Travel Retail Awards as Duty Free Innovation (DFI).
Focused upon sustainability, DFI offers a patented shopping innovation that grows revenue, supported by a full range of certified products specifically designed for the travel retail industry. DFI is the perfect partner for this year’s event, which will recognise the best green initiatives at airports, for the first time.
Senior Vice-President Global Commercial Strategy at DFI, Garry Stasiulevicuis, said: “We are delighted and excited to be the first sponsor of the 2020 Travel Retail Awards, which is especially important this year as TRBusiness and m1nd-set have introduced the ‘Best Green Initiative by an Airport’ Award.
“At DFI, sustainability and efforts to positively impact the environment are at the heart of all we do. We believe this award will highlight some great initiatives and therefore encourage more stakeholders to do more.
