Gateretail is continuing to offer onboard retail solutions to Norwegian Air Shuttle (Norwegian) after both agreed an extended contract, effective 1 January 2023.

Under the terms of the agreement with parent Gategroup, airline catering solutions firm Gate Gourmet will also remain Norwegian’s last-mile handling partner in the Nordics.

Norwegian and gategroup last inked a global partnership deal in February 2018, but the collaboration was first established more than a decade ago.

“We are delighted to extend our collaboration with Norwegian as their commitment to delivering unique retail and hospitality experiences to their passengers aligns with our overall mission,” commented Norbert van den Berg, President and Managing Director for gategroup in North West Europe.

“We look forward to continuing to deliver our latest technology and onboard retail expertise across the Nordic region with Norwegian in the future.”

Christoffer Sundby, Chief Marketing & Customer Officer at Norwegian, added: “We are pleased to extend our partnership with gategroup. At Norwegian, our priority is to provide our customers with an exceptional travel experience, and this partnership will help us achieve that goal.

“Gategroup’s expertise in delivering high-quality retail services that meet our customers’ diverse needs and preferences will support our objective of providing an attractive inflight concept.”
