Gatwick North opens doors to InMotion outlet with another due in January

WHSmith-owned technology retailer InMotion has inaugurated its first store at London Gatwick Airport.

Situated in the North Terminal, the shop sells technology and travel accessories such as tablets, digital action cameras, headphones and chargers from the likes of Apple, Samsung, Sony, Nikon, GoPro, Beats by Dr. Dre, Bose and Fitbit.

A second larger branch of InMotion is set to open towards the end of January.

Rachel Bulford, Director of Retail, Gatwick Airport said: “We are delighted to welcome InMotion to Gatwick, providing departing passengers with a fantastic tech and gadget offering.

“As the airport continues to get busier, especially ahead of the festive season, it’s very exciting to be able to open another new store within our North Terminal, following the additions of restaurants Tortilla and Juniper and Co. in September.”

The first of four InMotion shops at Gatwick Airport is now open.

WHSmith’s Travel UK business won all 30 technology store concessions across the country’s airports after the exit of Dixons Travel.

The Gatwick North store opening is the second for InMotion in as many months, having unveiled a 6,000sq ft combined WHSmith/InMotion shop at Stansted Airport in November.

Andrew Harrison, Managing Director, WHSmith Travel added: “Technology is an increasingly essential part of our customers’ journeys and our InMotion stores have been designed to make it easy for people not only to experience the latest products, but also to get the help and advice they need to make the right choices.

“We can’t wait to get the first of four InMotion stores at Gatwick open and start welcoming customers.”
