GlenScotia-LochLomondScottish distillery Glen Scotia reports that it has partnered with Edinburgh Airport and World Duty Free to launch its latest limited edition; Glen Scotia Single Cask.

With a limited supply of just 204 bottles, whisky fans travelling through Edinburgh Airport will be able to get their hands on the 26-year-old Glen Scotia Single Cask No. 857 from the airport’s World of Whiskies store, says Glen Scotia.

Commenting on the partnership, André de Almeida, GTR Managing Director for parent company, Loch Lomond, says: “Single cask bottlings are very special and are only undertaken with select partners.

“Edinburgh Airport and World Duty Free now have something unique to offer to their customers, and I hope travellers visiting Scotland will enjoy discovering both our Glen Scotia Single Cask Scotch whisky and the maritime influence of Campbeltown.”

The partnership follows a strong sales performance of Loch Lomond’s Global Travel Retail Scotch whisky range at Edinburgh Airport’s World of Whiskies store.

“It is very exciting to be offering this limited edition Glen Scotia Single Cask No. 857 to our World of Whiskies customers, especially as this is the first time the brand has been made available at a UK airport,” says Claire Branagan, Non-Beauty Trading Manager for World Duty Free at Edinburgh Airport.

“With just 204 bottles available, [it] offers a wonderful opportunity to acquire a slice of Campbeltown’s whisky heritage.”

Glen Scotia distillery, located in Campbeltown, is one of Scotland’s five Scotch whisky producing regions, and has a history that dates back to 1832.

According to the brand, Campbeltown was home to more than 30 distilleries and known as the ‘whisky capital of the world’ back in the Victorian era, but today Glen Scotia is one of just three surviving local distilleries.

“Whisky is just one of the many things that Scotland is famous for and we are delighted to be able to offer our passengers this exclusive bottle of what is our national drink,” adds Richard Townsend, Retail & Property Director of Edinburgh Airport.

Distilled in April 1991 and bottled in August 2017 at a cask strength of 56.5% ABV, the Glen Scotia Single Cask No. 857 will retail at £210 ($277) per 70cl bottle.
