Glenfiddich’s The Cooper’s Cask auction raises £150,000 in support of Ukraine

The auction of 460 bottles of Glenfiddich’s limited edition ‘The Cooper’s Cask’  has generated £150,000/$180,000, with proceeds going to the Disasters Emergency Committee’s Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal.

Bottle number one (#1) raised the highest amount at £5,601.

The Spirit of Speyside 2022 edition liquids were displayed by the single malt Scotch whisky maker via Whisky Auctioneer earlier this month, with bids ending on 10 May.

Claudia Falcone, Global Brand Director, Glenfiddich, said: “We are so happy that this year’s Spirit of Speyside exclusive bottling has succeeded in raising such a significant sum of money for such an important cause.

“The Disasters Emergency Committee are doing invaluable work in the region, and we hope that this contribution will assist in providing some relief to the families impacted by the conflict.”

Glenfiddich’s Malt Master Brian Kinsman fashion the limited-run whisky (ABV 60%) from three different oak barrels: virgin American oak, ex-bourbon oak and refill American oak.

Each 70cl bottle was hand numbered 1-460 and signed by the Malt Master himself.

Whisky Auctioneer waived their selling fees and donated the 10% buyer’s commission plus the hammer price raised.
