GSF to take Düsseldorf bow with packed agenda and influential speakers

Billed as ‘The Power of Innovation: How to bridge the digital gaps in the travel retail industry’, GSF 2019 will put the focus squarely on identifying travel retail’s missing potential for digitalisation.

GSF is a co-operation between Düsseldorf Airport, Travel Blue and Global Blue. Global Smiling and Z-Zoom are sponsoring the event, while m1nd-set is the event’s Research and Content Partner.

Eli Fel, Founder and Honorary Chairman, Global Shopping Forum and Managing Director, Travel Blue Germany will co-host GSF alongside Peter Mohn, CEO, m1nd-set.

Delegates will hear from a number of travel, retail, tech, design and airport experts plus opinion leaders and entrepreneurs via a series of presentations and ‘deep-dive’ discussions.

These will highlight relevant case studies, promote best practice in the realms of digital and shopping, incite fresh thinking, and allow companies to gain a reception on new-to-market digital tools.


Global Shopping Forum 2019 aims to address the unsolved challenges associated with digital.

The one-day event will aim to address a broad cross-section of questions, including:

-Where is the missing potential of digitalisation for the travel retail industry?

-How do you digitally target international travellers before and during their travel experience?

-Why is our industry having difficulties taking advantage of social media to communicate with international travellers?

-How do you utilise Chinese social media (Weibo and Wechat) to increase conversion with Chinese travellers?

-How can performance marketing campaigns be used to improve footfall and conversion at airport stores/F&B outlets ?
