Edward Schultz has become President of Hawaiian Host and Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Corporation.

Chocolate and macadamia specialist Hawaiian Host and its sister business Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Corporation, have announced three appointments who will help realise their duty free and travel retail ambitions.

The new recruits are Edward Schultz (President), Theresa Tuxhorn (Director of Global Marketing) and Danielle Laubenstein (Director of Global Brand & Innovation).

Schultz has become President of Hawaiian Host and Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Corporation, having previously served as President and Owner of Honolulu Coffee, a high-profile ‘Farm to Cup’ coffee company.

Meanwhile, Tuxhorn joins from Williams Sonoma Inc in San Francisco, where she led the merchandising, marketing and product innovation functions for the confectionery and gourmet food category. During her time with the travel retailer, she worked on category strategy, innovation and growth initiatives in markets including North America, Mid-Pacific, South East Asia, Middle East and Europe.

She also played an instrumental role in developing and designing a premium food hall for the launch of the T Fondaco del Tedeschi downtown store in Venice, Italy.

Tuxhorn said: “This is a particularly exciting time for the three of us to be joining Hawaiian Host, when one if its main focuses is to grow its travel retail business. I’m aiming to use my experience in the channel to help rapidly develop our business in this market, which offers a wealth of opportunities.”

Theresa Tuxhorn (left) has been appointed, Director, Global Marketing, while Danielle Laubenstein has assumed the role of Director of Global Brand and Innovation.

Finally Laubenstein joins with extensive experience in travel retail, having started her career with Godiva’s global travel retail team. With Godiva, she concentrated on the local, European, and Asian tourists visiting throughout the Americas.

This August, Hawaiian Host introduced its Mamoru Takitani Founder’s Collection of chocolate products into Asia Pacific travel retail. The launch was supported with high-profile promotions in major airports, destination-specific gift-boxes and gift with purchase offers.
