Heroes around the world

As Alpha prepares to reward its UK, Jersey and Irish Heroes for 2006, it is extending its thanks to the industry for its continued support for its staff recognition programme.
Lancaster Travel Retail, Cadbury Schweppes International, BAT, Imperial Tobacco and Food Partners are key sponsors of the Alpha Heroes UK event, many having been involved since the programme's inception. In excess of 50 companies have pledged their involvement in the initiative.
Kevin Abbott, Ceo of Alpha Airports Group Plc, said: ‘We?re overwhelmed with the continued support from our supplier partners, and delighted that so many of the companies we work with share our belief that people should be at the centre of a business.
‘The quality of nominations for this year?s Heroes is outstanding and we look forward to sharing the recognition of their success with our industry supporters on 27th March.’
The final round of nominations for Alpha Heroes 2006 has now been completed, and the difficult task of selecting the finalists and winners has begun. The finalists will be invited to attend the Alpha Heroes event at the Celtic Manor, Newport, on March 27 2006.
Preparations are also reaching their final stages for the inaugural Alpha USA Heroes, with the event being held at The Portofino Bay Hotel on February 25 2006. Alpha will hold Heroes events on three continents in 2006, as the USA joins Alpha Asia and the UK, Jersey and Ireland in inviting its employees to take part in recognition schemes.
