Imperial seeks replacement as Jennifer Cords departs
By Charlotte Turner |
Tobacco company, Imperial Brands, says that ‘it is with regret’ that they have to announce that after seven years Dr. Jennifer Cords has decided to leave the company to commence the next chapter of her career outside the company.
As a management team member taking care of 80+ markets Jennifer ‘translated’ external requirements, tightening regulation and even the impacts of political crisis (e.g. Arab spring) or natural disasters (e.g. Hurricane Irma) into the world of duty free. But her passion is communication, says Imperial Brands.
“Jennifer’s superhero-skill is authentic humour,” says Christian Münstermann, Global Duty Free’s Sales and Marketing Director.
Cords responded to Münstermann: “I love this feedback, it is quite unique when you consider that I am also leading the Compliance department, which sometimes is perceived as a fun-free environment.”
‘STRONG POSITION FOR FUTURE GROWTH’
“I speak on behalf of our regional teams from Athens, Hong Kong, Ft. Lauderdale, Bristol and Hamburg: Jennifer leaves Imperial’s Duty Free team in a very strong position for future growth and we sincerely thank her for her contribution and leadership during her tenure as our ‘global voice’, said Münstermann.
While Imperial decided to keep its future plans a ‘well-kept secret for now’, the company says ‘after a long summer break we might hear more’.
“There is one thing which we can talk about,” states Münstermann. “Imperial seeks a replacement. The new candidate should ensure continuity in protecting and promoting Imperial’s Duty Free business. I am happy to serve as a point of contact in case of interest.”
