IPSA expands to King Power Rangnam in ‘milestone’ move
By Luke Barras-hill |

IPSA has followed up a debut at Narita Airport with its second door at King Power Rangnam Downtown Complex.
Shiseido Travel Retail (STR) has promised further doors for IPSA following the opening of the skincare brand’s first non-Japan travel retail counter at the King Power Downtown Rangnam Complex in Bangkok.
The store, which has been designed around the concept of a comfortable living space, welcomed its first customers on 1 April.
Kenji Calméjane, General Manager of Shiseido Travel Retail Asia Pacific commented: “The brand, with its 30-year history, is already well established in Japan and China – but there is ample opportunity for growth and to open the brand’s first travel retail counter outside of Japan, just a few months after the successful launch of IPSA’s first in Narita Airport last December, is a fantastic achievement for the team.”
Described as a ‘quintessence of a timeless Japanese expression by the purity of its design and the precision of its rituals and skin analysis’, IPSO’s latest counter uses biege, white and black colours, decorative finishes and a natural wood veneer to create a minimalist, yet inviting space.
‘GLOBAL APPEAL’
A seven-metre high curved backwall allows visitors to browse assortments, while a spacious consultation area allows staff to offer tailored product recommendations, which are also available via an online questionnaire.
“IPSA has global appeal, particularly with millennials, thanks to its personalisation, minimalist packaging and simple, natural ethos on skincare and we have no doubt the brand’s momentum in the travel retail market will continue,” continued Calméjane.
King Power International Senior Executive Vice President Susan Whelan added: “It is with much pleasure that we welcome IPSA onboard.
“As a brand that is fast gaining popularity with the Chinese, who form one of our biggest customer bases, we look forward to working closely with Shiseido Travel Retail to bring more quality experiences and products from IPSA to our travellers.”
IPSA skus include the Metabolizer (ME) and Chinese-bestseller Time Reset Aqua.
