Italy’s Cellularline Group acquires majority of WorldConnect AG/Skross

New-Skross-adapterEuropean smartphone accessories business, Cellularline Group, is acquiring a majority stake in Swiss company WorldConnect AG; a move which both companies say aims to strengthen their international presence in multiple channels, but particularly in travel retail.

 

WorldConnect AG is known for its premium travel adapters and power solutions under the Skross and Q2Power brands.

 

Cellularline Group founded in 1990, which claims to be the ‘Italian and European leader in the smartphone accessories market’, comprises a broadbrand and product portfolio and is at the ‘technological forefront of the multimedia device accessories industry’.

 

Cellularline Group logo for Skross story“The strategic alliance allows WorldConnect to substantially expand its product range into the highly relevant mobile accessories segment and thus to become the perfect one-stop supplier for mobile accessories solutions for travel retail,” says a statement issued by WorldConnect.

 

BROADENING THE COMBINED PORTFOLIO

“On top of that, WorldConnect will take advantage of Cellularline’s sophisticated product development and innovation processes which will result in even more relevant and up-to-date products in the global travel retail industry.”
