Jo Malone offering grows

By Doug Newhouse |

From this month, Dark Amber & Ginger Lily is joning the Cologne Intense Collection which is currently available in all Jo Malone Travel Retail locations.

Cologne Intense is said to be inspired by centuries old rituals and traditions of layering scents, incenses and oils.

Dark Amber & Ginger Lily joins Amber & Patchouli, Oud & Bergamot, Rose Water & Vanilla and Iris & White Musk – the four original colognes which launched as Cologne Intense in 2010.

Working with the Jo Malone Creative Studio since 2009, Master Perfumer Christine Nagel created the four original scents in the collection, influenced by the Middle East.

A BOLD NEW APPROACH
“Yes, it’s a bold approach, but I wanted to take such risks to create fragrances with impact, heart and soul. With Cologne Intense, I chose to take potentially opposing ingredients of very high quality to create unexpected, yet harmonious fragrances…because when fragrance elicits an emotion, the story begins…”

Now part of the permanent collection, Dark Amber & Ginger Lily was created in 2008 by the Jo Malone Creative Studio in collaboration with Andrea Lupo as a limited edition.

Describing the new creation, the company said: “Rich, radiant and redolent of ritual, this fragrance was inspired by the ancient Japanese ceremony of Kohdo – the appreciation of incense and manipulation of moods through the nature of scents.”
