Kasper Andersen will helm the Edrington Nordics business from Stockholm.

Edrington Global Travel Retail (GTR) has announced a regional management switch as it looks to strengthen the company’s equity across key markets.

Jeremy Speirs has been named as Managing Director, Europe, Middle East & Africa Travel Retail (EMEA TR) based out of Glasgow, Scotland.

He succeeds Kasper Andersen, who remains in Stockholm to take on the role of Managing Director, Edrington Nordics – a role most recently occupied by Speirs.

Both appointments are effective from 1 August.

MACALLAN TRACK RECORD

During the course of Speirs’ 15-year career, he has presided over the recovery of The Famous Grouse in the Nordics, where he doubled sales for The Macallan during a three-year period.

He also helped grow The Macallan in the Asia Pacific region in a five-year tenure where he served as Area Director for China and Australasia and Business Development Director in Asia Pacific, alongside holding responsibility for Edrington’s brands in Japan where he worked closely with distributor Suntory.

The experienced Jeremy Speirs has been named as Managing Director, Edrington Europe, Middle East & Africa Travel Retail.

He is tasked with continuing to build existing client relationships in an already strong market to enhance the retail experience, with a particular focus on strengthening visibility for The Macallan at key airports.

“I’m looking forward to joining a dynamic team in a region that is full of potential and brimming with opportunities to bring our brands to life,” commented Speirs.

“With the ongoing rollout of The Macallan Quest Collection continuing across the region and a new travel retail exclusive Highland Park range hitting shelves, our portfolio has never been more strongly positioned to recruit consumers and drive brand equity through premiumisation. “

Meanwhile, Andersen played a pivotal role in establishing Edrington’s European travel retail business in 2015 in a three-year spell heading the travel retail division in Europe.

This lead to the eventual integration of the Middle East & Africa team last year to create the EMEA TR business unit.

Since 2015, Andersen has spearheaded double-digit growth for The Macallan while improving the brand’s presence in key airport locations in the region.

Igor Boyadjian, Managing Director, Edrington Global Travel Retail added: “Both Jeremy and Kasper are hugely valued and respected members of the Edrington business with strong track records for driving growth and spearheading the premium innovation agenda for which Edrington is known.

“Jeremy’s experience – particularly that gained while laying the foundations for The Macallan’s growth in Asia – will be invaluable as we continue to refine our premiumisation strategy in the EMEA region and drive growth for both our brands and our retail partners.”

“I would also like to thank Kasper for his efforts and great achievements during a crucial period for our travel retail business in Europe and more recently Middle East and Africa. Under his stewardship, I have no doubts that Edrington’s business in the Nordics will be in extremely good hands. Everyone within the Edrington GTR business wishes him well.”
