Lagardère Travel Retail announces the appointment of three new country CEOs

Lagardère Travel Retail has announced that Marion Engelhard (pictured below) has taken over the position of CEO Lagardère Travel Retail United Kingdom & Ireland from Amaury Dehen, who has become the COO of Lagardère Travel Retail in Abu Dhabi.

Engelhard joined the Lagardère Group in 2006, at the Internal Audit Department. In 2010, she moved to the Business Controlling Department in the duty free division. Two years later, she moved to Italy and took part in the creation of the Italian subsidiary. In 2017, she returned to Paris to head the Operations and Development Department at Duty Free Global.

As reported new country CEOs were also appointed covering Bulgaria and Romania. Stefan Picard, former CEO, Lagardère Travel Retail Bulgaria and Romania was named Executive Vice President, Commercial Development and Transformation for the retailer in the duty free division.


MarionEngelhard-smallMladen Yordanov will also become CEO, Lagardère Travel Retail Bulgaria on 1 November 2019. Yordanov graduated from the University of National and World Economy in Sofia and joined Lagardère Travel Retail in Bulgaria in 2008. He successfully held the positions of Chief Financial Officer, Store Network Director, Deputy General Manager and Managing Director.

In Romania, Marius Vacalau is to beomce CEO of Lagardère Travel Retail Romania. A graduate of the Bucharest University of Economic Studies, Vacalau joined the Group in 2007 as Commercial and Marketing Director, Lagardère Travel Retail in Romania. In 2011, he was promoted to Chief Operating Officer, a position he has held until now. All Bulgarian and Romanian appointments are effective 1 November 2019.
