Lagardère Travel Retail Chief Executive Officer Frédéric Chevalier has made an early statement of intent with the appointment of Michel Sibony as Chief Value Officer.
As reported, Chevalier was appointed to the helm of the Paris-headquartered travel retailer on 1 July to work alongside Chairman and CEO Dag Rasmussen in leading the company’s next phase of growth.
Sibony, whose CV includes various senior positions with the Bolloré, Vivendi and Canal+ groups, has joined Lagardère Travel Retail’s Executive Committee and reports directly to Chevalier.
In his new role, Sibony will be responsible primarily for supporting the operational efficiency and excellence of Lagardère Travel Retail, particularly through the development of synergies and strategic partnerships at national and international level while continuing to undertake his broader duties with the Louis Hachette Group.
For context, Louis Hachette Group became the new controlling shareholder of Lagardère SA with a 66.53% capital stake following the partial demerger of Vivendi SE in December last year.
The group trades on the Euronext Growth stock exchange.
