La Prairie Group has announced that Laurent Marteau has joined as Head Travel Retail worldwide with effect from August 25.

His new duties will include overseeing La Prairie’s worldwide travel retail business and development of the company’s travel retail strategy and growing the brand in the sector.

La Prairie says Marteau comes to company with more than 14 years of global experience in the luxury travel retail business, having held various senior management positions with Parfums Christian Dior in the Americas and EMEA regions. Prior to joining La Prairie, he was also Travel Retail International Director at LVMH Fragrance Brands.

EXISTING STRUCTURE REMAINS

The company adds that its existing travel retail structure remains intact, with General Managers continuing to report to regional Vice Presidents and through ’a functional line’ to Marteau, who will report directly to President and CEO of La Prairie Group Patrick Rasquinet.

Commenting on the appointment, Rasquinet said: “Travel Retail has been and remains to be one of the building blocks in La Prairie’s master plan. To further support this important channel of distribution and to enhance the global strategic drive, we have created a new role to lead the strategic long-term development of Travel Retail worldwide.

“Laurent’s extensive experience and knowledge of the travel retail world is second to none, and we are confident he will help this area of our business continue to thrive”.
