Lindt & Sprüngli to premiere Ube-inspired Bali Style Chocolate at TFWA
By Naomi Chadderton |
Lindt & Sprüngli Global Travel Retail is taking its destination-inspired chocolate journey to Southeast Asia with the launch of Lindt Bali Style Chocolate, which will make its debut at the TFWA World Exhibition & Conference in Cannes.
The latest addition to the company’s ‘Flavours of the World. Created by Lindt’ platform follows Dubai and Tokyo-inspired releases, with Bali providing the inspiration for a colourful new creation built around Ube.
The purple yam, which originates from the Philippines and is traditionally used in desserts in Bali, is paired with creamy Lindt milk chocolate, cashew and coconut filling, caramel pieces and vanilla. The Ube used in the recipe is sourced from Indonesia and brings notes spanning vanilla and coconut to pistachio, hazelnut, chestnut and buttery caramel.
Its distinctive purple hue also shapes the visual identity of the launch, with the Ube filling brought to the fore against packaging in blush pink, berry and gold.
Cannes will offer travel retail partners and industry guests the first opportunity to sample handcrafted bars created especially for the exhibition, before the product moves into the next stage of its rollout.
An exclusive pre-launch at Zurich Airport is planned for October, followed by availability at selected global travel retail locations from November. During 2026, Lindt Bali Style Chocolate will be sold exclusively through global travel retail and Lindt retail stores.
The launch continues the story of ‘Flavours of the World. Created by Lindt’, through which the chocolatier is translating flavours and ingredients associated with different destinations into products designed to bring a stronger element of discovery to the travel retail confectionery category.
Peter Zehnder, CEO Global Travel Retail at Lindt & Sprüngli, said: “Travel retail is an environment where the journey itself shapes what people are open to discovering. With ‘Flavours of the World. Created by Lindt’, we want to create something travellers come to recognise and look forward to seeing in new destinations. Bali Style builds on that through Ube, a flavour many travellers may still be discovering for the first time. We are delighted to offer our retail partners the very first taste of our latest creation in Cannes.”
