Loch Lomond debuts GTR range at Glasgow Airport

Highland Scotch whisky purveyor Loch Lomond Group has launched four global travel retail expressions at Glasgow Airport’s World Duty Free store.
The new collection, priced from £25 to £75, features two single malt variants; the Loch Lomond 12-year old and Loch Lomond Inchmurrin Madeira Cask Finish, alongside the Loch Lomond Signature Blend and Loch Lomond Single Grain.
World Duty Free’s Glasgow store is the brand’s first stop, as it targets a worldwide rollout of its global travel retail range with a launch in the Nordic markets later this month and planned appearances in Canada and the US.
Francois Bourienne, Commercial Director, Glasgow Airport, commented: “It’s exciting to be the first international airport to offer Loch Lomond Whiskies’ new bespoke global travel retail range.
“We’re also very proud to be supporting a brand based so close to Glasgow Airport on the shores of Loch Lomond, one of Scotland’s most beautiful and iconic attractions.
“Many of our customers will probably fly over the distillery itself – one of the whisky world’s best-kept secrets.”
NOVELTY PACKAGING
The global travel retail range has been launched in response to what Loch Lomond has identified as a growing demand for its award-winning Scotch whiskies, available in 90 markets internationally.
Standout one-litre bottles and premium packaging, which tells the story of the parts that combine to produce the liquid inside, “underline the quality and provenance of the products”, reports the brand.
André de Almeida, Managing Director of Global Travel Retail, Loch Lomond Group said: “We’ve been keen to introduce a global travel retail range for some time now following increasing demand for our Loch Lomond whiskies overseas.
“It means a great deal to us to offer the new range at World Duty Free in Glasgow Airport, less than 15 miles from our spiritual home in the heart of Loch Lomond – one of Scotland’s most beautiful and popular visitor destinations.
“We’re confident we are offering something new and unique to the marketplace that will deliver strong sales and a sense of discovery for whisky drinkers around the world.”
Based in Alexandria, the Loch Lomond distillery’s proximity to Glasgow Airport informs the provenance, unique flavours and character of the four expressions.
A tasting table will be on show during February and March, enabling shoppers to sample the new range.
Fred Creighton, Managing Director – UK & Germany, World Duty Free added: “We’re delighted to offer our Glasgow Airport customers the opportunity to purchase and enjoy the local Loch Lomond Whiskies’ exciting new travel retail exclusive range before anyone else.
“This very special collection is only available at the airport and it’s great to be able to offer our customers the opportunity to take a piece of Glaswegian heritage away with them, to remember their trip by.”
