L’Oréal signs agreement to buy Mugler and Azzaro fragrances from Clarins

L’Oréal Group has taken over Mugler and Azzaro fragrances following the acquisition of the Clarins Group’s fragrance division.

The deal, which is subject to conditions, is due to be completed in the first quarter of 2020 after customary approvals. The purchase amount was not disclosed.

Once it closes, L’Oréal will have control of Mugler, Thierry Mugler (Fashion), Clarins Fragrance Group (CFG), CFG France, Cosmeurop and CFG UK with a combined sales turnover of approximately €340m/$378m (2018).

Mugler and Azzaro will continue to grow their international presences while drawing on L’Oréal’s vast experience and resources in marketing, distribution and innovation.
