TRBusiness is delighted to announce that Luke Barras-Hill has been appointed Managing Editor – TRBusiness e-zine, effective immediately.

Barras-Hill will manage and oversee the publication’s digital and *print output in addition to his other editorial responsibilities across the company’s fast-growing media and events portfolio.

He joined TRBusiness in 2017 and quickly became an invaluable member of the editorial team, delivering breaking news stories, conducting interviews with high-level executives and producing regular video content.

He is a seasoned journalist and editor with vast experience reporting on the duty free and travel retail industry and has become well-known for his editorial integrity and professionalism since he joined the industry, which has allowed him to develop an enviable network of influential contacts and sources.

NEW POSITION

Contributing to the incredible library of videos available to all users via TRBusiness.com, Barras-Hill has also represented the company at numerous physical and virtual events and is an accomplished moderator and panellist.

Charlotte Turner, Editorial Director, TRBusiness, said: “Luke is really one-of-a-kind. Already a talented journalist, he attacked the role of Deputy Editor with incredible zeal and determination.

“An invaluable member of the TRBusiness team, Luke has great instincts and an even better work ethic. I can’t thank him enough for steering the ship while I have been on maternity leave, not once, but twice since he joined the company in 2017. Congratulations Luke.”

Adding his comments, Nigel Hardy, Owner and Joint Managing Director, TRBusiness added: “I am personally delighted that we have been able to promote Luke into this new role that is richly deserved. In addition to stepping up to the plate during a particularly fraught period in the industry’s recent history while Charlotte Turner was on maternity leave, Luke has made huge personal contributions in many other areas.

“This includes the pivotal part that he played in the creation, development and evolution of the e-zine which has surpassed all our expectations, and which has become a truly dynamic reader experience that is second to none. It is a true pleasure to have Luke as a senior member of the team.”

Barras-Hill added: “I’m hugely excited to take on this important role as we extend TRBusiness’ reach to new readers, viewers and partners in a challenging environment.

“Media consumption is perpetually changing, underpinning the requirement to connect with new and existing audiences in different ways, continuing to offer breadth, variety and accessibility in the content we produce, while at all times staying true to those hallmarks of integrity, reliability and dispassionate authority for which TRBusiness is well known.

“I would like to thank my colleagues and fellow senior members of the team for their continued support and I am looking forward, mightily, to re-connecting with industry contacts and friends in the very near future.”

*As part of a company-wide commitment to sustainability announced last year, TRBusiness produces monthly issues (in addition to its revered Top 10 International Operators Report) in a digital e-zine format. TRBusiness will continue to be available in print at all major exhibitions and conferences throughout the year, for which the company will be offsetting the carbon footprint.
