MSC’s Explora Journeys unveils three luxury watch and jewellery stores

Explora Journeys will open standalone Cartier, Piaget and Panerai stores on board its Explora I and Explora II cruise ships.

Explora Journeys, the luxury lifestyle hospitality brand owned by MSC Group, is to open three luxury watch and jewellery stores on board its Explora I and Explora II vessels. 

Cartier, Panerai and Piaget will have stand-alone stores to complement the offering, which was developed under the Explora Journeys strap line of ‘European heritage and commitment to excellence’.

Each retail space has been designed to offer a spacious, elegant environment, and to reflect the brand values of each watch and jewellery house. 

Panerai’s retail space is its first boutique at sea, described as an “immersive environment” dedicated to the brand’ DNA. 

The Cartier name is synonymous with open-mindedness and curiosity, Explora Journeys said, while Piaget “epitomises daring creativity”. 

All three stores are due to open on board Explora I on 17 July 2023, available exclusively to guests.

“We are delighted to be launching this new luxury retail offering on board Explora I,” said Michael Ungerer, Explora Journeys CEO.

“Our goal is always to provide our travellers with an exceptional and unforgettable experience, and we believe that our new luxury retail partners, offering the best in Swiss luxury watchmaking and fine jewelleries, will help us to achieve that goal. 

Each store has been designed to reflect the values of each brand.

“Our guests are discerning travellers who expect the very best, and we are proud to be able to offer them a shopping experience that reflects our commitment to quality, luxury, and excellence.”

Explora Journeys was launched by MSC Group to “redefine the ocean experience for a new generation of discerning luxury travellers”. 

Its fleet of six ships will be launched from 2023 to 2028, with an array of restaurants, experiences and shopping opportunities. 

Last month, MSC Cruises said it will operate the largest shopping area on board a cruise or ferry liner when its newest vessel MSC Euribia launches.
