Marchon Eyewear has announced Gabriele Bonapersona and Gabriele Cappelli as Chief Brand Officer and Chief Product Officer, respectively.
Both will join the New-York headquartered eyewear and sunglasses manufacturer and distributor’s global management leadership team.
The positions of Chief Brand Officer and Chief Product Officer, which include responsibility for the global travel retail business, replace Marchon Eyewear President Thomas Burkhardt’s previous role of Senior Vice President of Global Brands, Marketing and Design for Marchon Eyewear.
As Chief Brand Officer, Bonapersona will oversee Marchon and Altair’s portfolio and their respective brand management teams.
He boasts more than 15 years’ experience in the eyewear industry, more than 12 of which have been spent with Marchon Eyewear.
Most recently, he held the position of Vice President for European Fashion and Lifestyle brands.
‘Well-deserved promotions’
In his role as Chief Product Officer, Cappelli will lead the product design, product management and merchandising teams for Marchon and Altair.
He previously held the position of Vice President of Global Merchandising at Marchon Eyewear.
Prior to that, he worked as Global Product Director at GrandVision, a large group of optical retailers.
“We are thrilled to promote within the company,” commented Burkhardt. “Bonapersona and Cappelli have excelled in their previous roles at Marchon Eyewear and these promotions are well deserved. It also demonstrates the value of our succession planning efforts over the years.”
Marchon Eyewear’s portfolio includes Calvin Klein, Columbia, Converse, DKNY, Donna Karan, Dragon, Flexon, Karl Lagerfeld, Lacoste, Lanvin, Liu Jo, Longchamp, Marchon NYC, MCM, Nautica, Nike, Nine West, Pilgrim, Pure, Salvatore Ferragamo, Skaga, Victoria Beckham and ZEISS.
