New Neuhaus pairing box launched exclusively with Heinemann Asia Pacific
By Andrew Pentol |
Neuhaus’ Maîtres Chocolatiers has launched a new pairing box exclusively with Heinemann Asia Pacific for November.
The company has collaborated with various wine experts to create six new chocolate pralines in two tasting flights, each designed to pair with red and white wines, respectively.
According to Neuhaus, each praline’s mix of taste, texture and cocoa intensity, combined with ingredients such as Earl Grey tea, saffron, cardamom and acacia honey make these pralines an ideal companion to certain types of wine.
Partnering with wine company, Treasury Wine Estates (TWE), a white wine from Penfolds and a red wine from Beringer were selected to pair with these pralines from their wider wine portfolios. These select wines will be featured during the activation, which will initially launch at Hong Kong and Sydney International Airports.
OPTIMUM PAIRING
TWE selected Penfolds and Beringer to provide consumers with two different profiles. Brand Ambassador, Sam Stephens, tasted the pralines and identified Penfolds Max’s Chardonnay and Beringer Knights Valley Cabernet Sauvignon to pair best.
Neuhaus’ Maîtres chocolatiers created three pralines that balances out the acids and aromas which characterise most dry and medium-dry white wines. Penfolds Max’s Chardonnay is soft and delicate in acidity with a tinge of citrus on the mouth, working with an amalgam of aromatics to appeal to the nose.
This profile works well with the honey, almonds and seeds within the pralines. They also developed three pralines, each with a ganache filling that pairs with the tannins and layered flavours of red wines. These feature earl grey, saffron and cherries. Beringer Knights Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is fresh and bright with hints of walnut, fresh herbs and dark fruit.
Travellers can purchase the Neuhaus Wine Pairing Box at a 15% discount with every purchase of Penfolds Max’s Chardonnay or Beringer Knights Valley Cabernet Sauvignon in Hong Kong International Airport.
