The Nuxe Bio Organic range was relaunched in July 2022.

French beauty brand Nuxe has refreshed and reintroduced its Nuxe Bio Organic range of organic cosmetics featuring new scents and textures along with enhanced eco-responsible standards.

The range is now independently certified organic by Ecocert (a leading specialist in the certification of sustainable practices) and the products meet the Cosmos-signature standard, which demonstrates that they comply with strict environmental criteria at every step, from the raw materials to the finished product.

“When we launched our range of Nuxe Bio Organic products in 2020 we considered our formulations at the time to be a benchmark for organic cosmetics standards but the reformulations we are introducing now are a big step up from 2020 pushing further the boundaries of what is possible to achieve in terms of eco-responsible standards across the full spectrum of cosmetics production, from sourcing to packaging,” said Elodie Brunner, Head of Export, Travel Retail & Middle East.

“To have all our formulas independently certified organic by Ecocert and conforming strictly to the extremely demanding standards of Cosmos speaks volumes for the company’s successful commitment to this critical aspect of the cosmetics industry.

“This range is, I believe, especially relevant to travel retail consumers who look for product firsts and innovations, increasingly in the area of eco-responsibility, which is highly consistent with their own consumer behaviour.”

There are seven Cosmos-certified products in the Nuxe Bio Organic range, which is now independently certified organic by Ecocert.

The new Bio Organic formulas contain, on average, 99% natural-origin ingredients and over 63% ingredients from organic farming.

The company’s sustainable sourcing policy prioritises eco-responsible active ingredients, with their geographic origin ‘controlled by DNA analysis of key ingredients to guarantee their effectiveness and combat bio-piracy’.

In addition, all of the new product formulations are registered with The Vegan Society.

The product life cycle of the packaging has also been elevated with the factories in France, where all of the Nuxe Bio Organic products are made and packaged, also being Ecocert compliant.

Recycled and recyclable packaging materials, such as glass and plastic, are used wherever possible.

As a case in point, up to 90% of the glass in the 50ml jars is recycled glass whereas the plastic for the Micellar Cleansing Water bottle is 100% recycled.

A 23% reduction in the use of plastic has been achieved across the entire range.

Consumers will notice a number of additional changes, such as the Ultimate Night Recovery Oil and Essential Antioxidant Serum products being no longer sold in boxes – a move that has reduced cardboard usage by 86% and aided a 14% total reduction of cardboard usage across the entire range.

All the paper that is still used is FSC-certified from sustainably managed forests.

Notes of neroli and orange blossom now characterise the range and some textures have been reworked in response to customer feedback.

The Glow Rich Moisturizing Cream, for example, now also features botanical oils from argan, macadamia and apricot, that have given rise to a new texture that ‘melts’ into the skin.
