Oliva unveils Serie V Melanio Edición Año 2026 Perfecto
By Naomi Chadderton |
Oliva Cigar Company has announced the release of its latest limited edition, the Serie V Melanio Edición Año 2026 Perfecto, a cigar inspired by an exceptional tobacco crop shaped by rare climatic conditions in Nicaragua.
Positioned as a “Grand Cru” expression, the 2026 edition pays tribute to what the brand describes as an extraordinary growing season in the Jalapa Valley, where reduced rainfall and unusually high temperatures between 2023 and 2024 created ideal conditions for select tobacco varieties. The result is a cigar intended to reflect both the uniqueness of the harvest and the craftsmanship behind the Serie V Melanio range.
Sourced from the fertile plains of central and northern Nicaragua, the tobacco used in the release highlights the region’s longstanding reputation for producing premium leaves, with the Oliva team drawing on decades of expertise in cultivation and blending.
The limited-edition Perfecto format continues the brand’s annual Serie V Melanio releases, which are highly anticipated among cigar enthusiasts, with this edition positioned as a tribute to a rare moment where environmental conditions and expertise aligned.
Fred Vandermarliere, CEO of Vandermarliere Cigar Family, said: “The Oliva Serie V Melanio is already the top of the top. But this limited edition takes the experience to a level one can only dream about as these special conditions cannot be man-made; they can only be handed down by nature. And so, with every aficionado enjoying this remarkable cigar, we pay homage to that powerful bond between the forces of nature and the skills of the craft.”
With the Edición Año 2026 Perfecto, Oliva continues to emphasise its focus on craftsmanship, terroir and the natural elements that define premium cigar production, offering collectors and aficionados a distinctive expression shaped by both place and time.
