Pernod Ricard Global Travel Retail has partnered with Richard Quinn for another Royal Salute collaboration.

Pernod Ricard’s Royal Salute has partnered with fashion designer Richard Quinn to release Royal Salute 21 Year Old Richard Quinn Edition II, described as an “exceptional” blended Scotch.

The expression is said to fuse “whisky expertise and artistic creativity”, with Quinn designing three Royal Salute flagons to accompany the Scotch.

A travel retail exclusive, the bottling is a “true collectable”, and the result of Quinn working alongside Royal Salute Master Blender, Sandy Hyslop.

The pair co-crafted the blend at Speyside’s Strathisla Distillery. It is said to bring out “depth and maturity” while reflecting the growing partnership between the brand and designer. 

Malts included in the release include Braeval, Strathisla and Caperdonich. It offers “rich fruity notes, elevated with hints of spice and gentle smoky characteristics”.

The signature Royal Salute flagon has been given the Richard Quinn makeover. His bold style and love of patterns use purple, yellow and green against a white background.

 “I get inspired and motivated by someone who has something new to say, who brings a new perspective, or pushes boundaries to create something new and Sandy Hyslop does this in incredible fashion when it comes to crafting outstanding Scotch,” said Quinn. 

“Spending time with him at Strathisla Distillery was a stand-out highlight for me and the creative journey we’ve been on together has been incredible. 

“We both brought a really clear vision to the table, and seeing these collide, merge and build into the finished edition was a thrill to be a part of. 

“Extending the collaboration with Royal Salute was a no-brainer for me, and I love the idea that our collaborative effort will find its way into the hands of appreciators of craft across the world.”

The bottle design features Quinn’s signature patterns.

 The Royal Salute 21 Year Old Richard Quinn Edition II is available in select travel retail stores now.

Back in May, Pernod Ricard GTR launched Royal Salute 21 Year Old Jodhpur Polo Edition, a limited blended Scotch whisky said to evoke the “magic” of a Jodhpur night.
