Piquadro stakes LAND claim
By Doug Newhouse |
For its Spring-Summer 2011 collection, Piquadro has launched LAND, a new business collection of briefcases, messenger bags, backpacks and trolleys in ‘a natural, country-style flavour’.
The company said: “This collection’s distinctive trait is its craftsman’s soul highlighted by accentuated contrast stitching and brushed metal studs, typical of traditional saddle manufacturing. The charm of Italian craftsmanship is found in the hot stamping of the borders and the choice of materials, high-quality full grain calfskin from the Tuscan tanning district.
“The naturalness of the leather is merged with technological innovation by combining it with a technical fabric with a soft, warm finish. The high-quality full grain cow leather that has been vegetable tanned and dyed with high quality natural ingredients is hand buffed to bring out its colours and give it the shadowed effect that is typical of this process.”
The briefcases, messenger bags, backpacks and trolleys that make up the LAND line are equipped with a practical internal organizer that provides pockets and compartments made out of leather and metallic netting to hold iPads, iPhones and personal computers.
The company added: “Comfort is ensured by the padded handle and swivel snap hook, which Piquadro introduces for the first time in the LAND collection and which improves stability during transportation.”
