Philip Morris International (PMI) Duty Free has launched the Iqos 3 Duo Motor Sports Edition in Kix duty free shops at Kansai International Airport with Dubai Duty Free to follow.
The Iqos 3 Duo Motor Sports Edition is a limited edition that celebrates ‘the thrill and passion’ of motorsports. It is a collectable from the Iqos family exclusively available at the time of the Formula One motorsport event in limited quantities with accessories designed to match the device.
Thee accessories offer a customisable and memorable moment for motorsport and Iqos enthusiasts to express their style, according to PMI, which added: “The Motor Sports Edition offers a sophisticated signature look with its tactile asphalt matt finishing and subtle rosso red details.
“We continuously look to bring our consumers new innovative products that are a better alternative to cigarettes. The Iqos 3 Duo Motor Sports Edition is the latest product offer for legal age consumers who are looking for a unique product.”
The launch of the Iqos 3 Duo Motor Sports Edition, follows that of the Iqos 3 Duo itself in duty free last month. This newest interaction of its successful Iqos product is the company’s most advanced so far and has been ‘designed around consumer needs’. Charging speed is two-times faster than the Iqos 2.4 Plus and there is now the possibility for two consecutive uses.
SMOKE-FREE PRODUCT PORTFOLIO
Edvinas Katilius, Vice President, PMI Duty Free told TRBusiness at the time of the launch: “Iqos 3 Duo is the latest addition to our smoke-free product portfolio that we’ve developed to offer a better alternative to cigarettes for adult smokers.
“We’re getting faster at delivering upgrades and new products, to provide the opportunity for more and more adult smokers, who would otherwise continue smoking to switch to better alternatives.”
Travel retail is an ‘important and vital channel ‘ in terms of creating the smoke-free world PMI craves. Katilius commented: “We have the unique opportunity to reach millions of travelling adult smokers and to inform them of a better alternative to cigarettes.”
Elaborating on the importance of DF&TR in terms of overall business, Katilius, who reveals PMI Duty Free is one of the top 10 PMI affiliates said: “Duty free is a very important channel for our business, providing us with a global presence.
“Consumers are at the heart of our transformation and travelling is part of our consumers’ lifestyle. Our presence in travel retail allows us to reach 100 million international travelling adult smokers per year and inform them of better alternatives to cigarettes.”
Currently, PMI is present in around 26 travel retail markets with over 130 travel retail locations. The aim is to continue expanding its travel retail footprint in line with the expansion of Iqos on the domestic market.
