Porsche Design and brand ambassador Patrick Dempsey launch new campaign

The frames of the Hooks Series exude a masculine look, according to Porsche Design.

Porsche Design and brand ambassador Patrick Dempsey have launched a new brand campaign around the P’8920 D timeless eyewear model from the new Porsche Design Hooks Series.

As reported, exclusive lifestyle brand Porsche Design partnered with Hollywood star Dempsey earlier this year to launch a new campaign for its 2021 Eyewear collection, which will be featured by duty free retailers worldwide.

Inspired by the design of the P’8478, the P’8920 reintroduces the “Hooks” as an element that is ingrained in the brand’s history.

According to Porsche Design, the frames of the Hooks series exude a masculine look.

Listings for the Hooks Series sunglasses have been secured with China Duty Free Group, PAC Duty Free Beirut and Bahrain Duty Free. Rebecca Rauner, Sales Manager, Rodenstock said: “We’re experiencing very good sell-through of the range in all outlets where they are listed; the great look of these sunglasses and the Patrick Dempsey endorsement are really appealing to consumers.”

2021 COLOUR OF THE YEAR

Meanwhile, Porsche Design has presented the 2021 colour of the year sunglasses (P’8478). In 1978, Professor Ferdinand Alexander Porsche created a design icon which is recognised around the world by design lovers.

The 2021 colour of the year sunglasses (P’8478) is limited to 1,500 copies.

The look of the spectacles has now been reinterpreted in the 2021 colour of the year, which is limited to 1,500 copies and comes in an exclusive box with an additional pair of interchangeable lenses in an olive colour. The recommended retail price is €460.

In further Porsche Design news, the partnership with Dempsey has led to the introduction of a new take on the world’s first sunglasses with an interchangeable lens mechanism (P’8478).

A modern, squared aviator style, the new P’8928 design features a distinctive and edgy look that exudes strong character, says Porsche Design.

The partnership between Porsche Design and Dempsey is commemorated with the launch of the limited P’8928 P Collector’s Edition (pictured below).

With the new Collector’s Edition, Porsche Design offers the exclusive P‘8928 P with four additional pairs of coloured interchangeable lenses in a traveller box.

The different lenses can be switched out to match different style preferences or adapted to changing lighting conditions. The shades are equipped with Porsche Design’s Vision Drive Lens technology, which provides reliable scratch protection, making the lenses extremely impact resistant.

Available since 1 May 2021, the coloured lenses have a recommended retail price of €695 and are available in exclusive specialist retail shops, Porsche Design stores and online at www.porsche-design.com.
