TRBusiness and m1nd-set are delighted to announce that Qatar Duty Free (QDF) is supporting the TR Consumer Forum 2022 as a Platinum Sponsor.

Known for its dynamic proposition of boutiques, retail stores, restaurants and cafés, Qatar Duty Free is the latest sponsor to pledge its support for the conference, which has attracted an impressive line-up of high-profile speakers and attendees from around the world.

QDF will be attending the event (from 4-6 September at the Parklane, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, Limassol) with Barry Wheeler, Head of Retail, speaking in the keynote session on Day 1 (Monday 5 September).

Wheeler will join Eleni Kaloyirou, CEO, Hermes Airports, Rob Marriott, CEO, ARI Middle East and Peter Mohn, CEO & Owner, m1nd-set, for a scene setting discussion on the conference theme of curating a customer centric culture.

TR Consumer Forum delegates will be able to hear, first-hand, how QDF is creating memorable shopping and dining experiences for travellers.

“Being an active participant in TR Consumer Forum reinforces our understanding of consumers’ purchasing behaviours and attitudes while allowing us to adjust how we leverage the amazing shopping and dining options we are offering our passengers,” said Thabet Musleh, Vice President of Qatar Duty Free.

“This layer of additional intelligence is integral to how we are driving our capacity to deliver revenue and optimise the return on our overall investment by giving our customers the right offer at the right time.”

As reported in July in our exclusive interview with Musleh, the company is striving to ensure an unparalleled customer experience at Hamad International Airport (HIA) for when the FIFA World Cup kicks off in Qatar.

With the Phase A expansion of HIA expected to increase capacity to more than 58 million passengers annually this year, QDF is “working extremely hard to deliver the best shopping experience worth travelling for,” said Musleh.

Its strategy includes increasing its retail offer from 90 outlets to more than 175 shops.

HIA was named the Best Airport in the World for the second year running by the SKYTRAX World Airport Awards 2022.

The airport also retained its title as the Best Airport in the Middle East for the eighth year in a row.

You can register for the TR Consumer Forum today for £695. To find out more, visit the dedicated website at travelretailconsumerforum.com.
