Registration opens for CPI airport management course
By Andrew Pentol |
Registration is open for the bi-annual Concession Planning International (CPI) Airport Commercial Development and Management Course, taking place in the UK from 29 October to 1 November.
CPI’s training credentials have recently been endorsed by Airports Council International (ACI) with their appointment to develop ACI’s specialist online training course for non-aeronautical business.
The five-module Certificate in Airport Commercial Management launched this July and is receiving excellent feedback from participants.
The upcoming CPI Airport Commercial Development and Management Course will dive into the fundamentals of optimising non-aeronautical revenue.
SESSION FOCUSES
Sessions address skills including maximising the passenger flow from a commercial perspective, terminal and store design; retail and food & beverage layout and mix development; sales and revenue forecasting; the tendering process and contract models.
Further dedicated sessions examine the importance of understanding the customer through research and segmentation and address ways to engage with them through marketing and branding, advertising, digital and mobile technology.
The future of airport retail is addressed as a common theme within every presentation.
The Airport Commercial Development and Management Course combines lectures from CPI partners Susan Gray and Jeremy Corfield, guest lecturers from London Heathrow and London Stansted Airports and Gebr Heinemann.
With well over 400 alumni worldwide, this course is recognised as the gold standard for airport commercial training, according to CPI.
An attendee at CPI’s most recent Sydney course, which took place earlier this year and was ultimately oversubscribed said: “As someone who has just started in the airport industry, I found this course to be incredibly valuable.
“Susan and Jeremy have a wealth of knowledge which they pass on in a relevant and engaging way. This was also a fantastic networking opportunity. I now have airport contacts interstate and overseas.”
The UK course is fully residential and costs £3,150 ($4,102) per person inclusive of accommodation. Discounts apply for organisations registering more than one delegate.
This year’s course programme and registration form can be downloaded from the CPI website.
