Ritter Sport promises ‘pure pleasure to cocoa enthusiasts’ at world exhibition

By Luke Barras-hill |

Ritter-Sport-TFWA-19German family-owned confectioner Ritter Sport will draw on decades of experience and expertise in chocolate making to tantalise the tastebuds of visitors at this year’s TFWA World Exhibition.

The travel retail exclusive Cocoa Selection Deluxe uses sustainable cocoa from traceable sources in Ghana, Peru and Nicaragua to produce a special gifting proposition comprising 3x100g Ritter Sport square bar varieties: 55% Smooth, 61% Fine and 74% Intense.

These are contained in a luxury, hot foil-embossed, jungle-inspired box.

Simone Weiss, International Key Account Manager Travel Retail, Ritter Sport said: “We felt that there was a gap in our assortment for a truly premium gift product which could, at the same time, act as a flagship for the Ritter brand.

“Our new Cocoa Selection Deluxe perfectly fills this gap, bringing together our purest recipes with purity of design.”

Other reimagined Ritter Sport novelties set to star at the show include the new portable size Travel Edition Choco Cubes pouches in 111g and 109g bags.

Ritter will present its Cocoa Selection Deluxe (top), Travel Edition Choco Cubes pouches (below) at  the TFWA World Exhibition, while the Heart and Smile (pictured) gift box will receive a makeover for 2020.

Available in Strawberry Yoghurt and Whole Hazelnut in Praline Cream flavours, the pouches are said to be ideal for snacking, sharing and gifting.

They accompany the larger 397g Choco Cube pouch boasting five flavour varieties.

Meanwhile, a redesigned and easier-to-open Ritter Sport Mini Meter containing 72 Ritter Sport minis in a metre-long gift box features travel-inspired packaging, with sights and attractions from around the world.

Joining this is the Ritter Sport Nut Tower in an improved 800g multipack (8x100g) presented in a convenient travel pack with six nut flavours, including top-selling Honey Salt Almond.

Ritter Sport says a new Ritter Sport Heart and Smile gift box is also due to make an appearance next year to support the brand’s uprated product selection and vibrant identity.

“Ritter Sport’s new and reimagined gift options are perfect for travel retail – providing a complete and comprehensive range of different taste options to put a smile on any chocolate-lover’s face,” added Weiss.

“Over three million chocolate bars leave our factory every day and make their way to over 100 countries. We’re excited about working with travel retail to bring our sustainable, ecologically-sound and truly good chocolate to even more cocoa lovers and with these new products, there truly is something for everyone.”

Headquartered in Waldenbuch, Ritter Sport enjoyed sales of €480m/$525m in 2018.
