Sekonda enters smart ring market with jewellery-inspired launch
By Naomi Chadderton |
Sekonda is expanding its wearable technology offer with the launch of its first smart ring, combining health and wellbeing tracking with a jewellery-inspired design and an accessible £79.99 price point.
Launching on 21 September, the Sekonda Smart Ring will be available in gold and silver finishes across six sizes. The stainless-steel wearable is positioned as an alternative to both smart watches and higher-priced smart rings, with no monthly subscription required.
Designed to be worn throughout the day and night, the ring tracks sleep quality, heart rate, Heart Rate Variability (HRV), blood oxygen (SpO₂), stress signals and skin temperature trends, alongside women’s cycle tracking. Data can be synced with Apple Health and Health Connect, allowing users to integrate information collected by the ring with compatible health and wellness apps.
Sekonda has also placed an emphasis on making the technology feel more like traditional jewellery, while the slim stainless-steel design offers a battery life of between five and seven days and water resistance to 50 metres. Each ring comes with a charging case, USB charging cable and silicone protective cover, which can be used to help prevent scratches during activities such as weight training and manual tasks.
The launch comes as consumer interest in smart rings continues to grow, driven by demand for less intrusive ways to monitor areas such as sleep, stress and recovery.
Pete Ogley, CEO at Sekonda, said: “We’re seeing growing demand for wearable technology that fits effortlessly into people’s lives. The Sekonda Smart Ring offers health insights in a beautiful, discreet piece of jewellery, without the premium price tag or ongoing subscription. It is wellness made simple.”
The Sekonda Smart Ring will be sold through Sekonda’s own website as well as H Samuel, Argos and Amazon.
