Sim Local looking to grow retail estate as store at Brussels Airport goes live

Sim Local has announced the opening of its latest retail store at Brussels Airport.

As reported in July, the shop represents Sim Local’s first standalone store outside of the UK & Ireland.

International travellers can buy sim cards equipped with EU roaming data plans from Orange, Proximus and Lycamobile to ensure connectivity while in Europe, while avoiding any unnecessary roaming charges.

The store will carry an extensive range of accessories from the likes of PanzerGlass and Skross, with fully trained staff on hand to help customers select the right offer and products according to their needs.

Ian Rankin, Chief Trading Officer at Sim Local, commented: “We are delighted to be opening the doors to our Belgium store and are looking forward to serving passengers arriving at Brussels airport. Our growing portfolio of stores, vending machines and shop-in-shop concepts is well-poised to capitalise on the return to international travel and we continue to look for opportunities to grow our existing estate.”

Frédérique Ringoot, Retail Manager at Brussels Airport, added: “Sim Local’s offering is one that we believe is an excellent addition to our current retail portfolio, and provides a product and service that intercontinental travellers will value highly. We are looking forward to working with them as they embark on their journey with us.”

Sim Local possesses points of sale across more than 150 locations worldwide.

The company revealed its ambitious expansion plans to TRBusiness in an exclusive interview last year.
