Simon Carter brings more than 16 years’ experience to the Global Travel Retail General Manager position.

Treasury Wine Estates (TWE) has named Simon Carter as its new General Manager, Global Travel Retail.

Carter replaces Barry Galloway, who has left the role to explore other opportunities and spend more time with his family.

In his new position, Carter will oversee sales operations for TWE’s award-winning portfolio, while focusing on business acceleration in global travel retail.

He reports to Kinyi Choo, Managing Director, Southeast Asia, Middle East & Africa, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Global Customers and Global Travel Retail.

STRONG LEADERSHIP CREDENTIALS

Based in Adelaide, Carter joined Treasury in 2002 and occupied a wealth of key sales roles before moving to the global travel retail team in 2014 as Regional Manager of Australia and New Zealand.

During that time, he was instrumental in raising the profile of Penfolds, Wolf Blass, Wynns and Matua at key airport locations in Sydney, Melbourne and Auckland.

In the past 18 months, he has held the role of Head of On-Premise Sales, Australia, creating and leading a strategy to develop revenue in the channel.

“Simon brings great leadership experience, commercial acumen and a deep understanding of the global travel retail channel that will enable him to lead and drive growth of the TWE brand portfolio across the global travel business,” commented Choo.
