LVMH Moët Hennessy company Starboard Cruise Services has shared details of the retail experience onboard Carnival Celebration after sealing a contract extension with Carnival Cruise Line.
Starboard CS has pledged its most expansive retail selection across the fleet – in addition to its most ambitious – by delivering first-at-sea brands and interactive elements.
“We’ve developed, designed, and curated engaging retail offerings, including many first-at-sea launches as well as sustainable brands and products that exemplify inclusivity for Carnival Celebration,” said Lisa Bauer, Starboard Cruise Services’ President and CEO.
In celebration of Carnival’s 50th anniversary, the theme is carried throughout The Fun Shops, which cover more than 4,580sq ft across three decks.
“Bringing Carnival’s brand to life, Starboard delivers an exciting assortment of Carnival-branded merchandise with a really fun in-store experience – a perfect tribute to our 30-year partnership,” continued Bauer.
Jeremy Schiller, Vice President of Retail Operations for Carnival Cruise Line, said: “Carnival’s 50th birthday was the perfect occasion to level up our retail offerings and refresh what our guests have come to expect from our ships.
“Our long-term partnership with Starboard continues to deliver groundbreaking retail concepts that have fundamentally improved cruisers’ vacation journey.”
Dedicated luxury vintage boutique
On show will be a first-at-sea Interactive Floor Experience located in The Carnival Store (Deck 8) featuring an interactive retail installation that changes as guests walk over it.
Guests can enjoy a number of Carnival-themed moments while shopping, from floor hockey with the Carnival funnel to riding on the ship’s BOLT rollercoaster virtually and more.
In the beauty shop, notable brands will feature including signature fragrances from American pop singer Ariana Grande and ICONIC London.
The Swiss timepiece shop houses a first-at-sea from Gorilla on Carnival Celebration.
Founded by Octavio Garcia, an industry veteran, Gorilla is inspired by iconic luxury sports cars, with the watches powered by Miyota automatic mechanical movements and state-of-the-art high-tech materials such as carbon-fibre cases, ceramic bezels, anodised aluminium and titanium.
Carnival Celebration is also reportedly the first ship to introduce a standalone, dedicated luxury vintage boutique at sea promoting responsible fashion and offerings from brands such as Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Gucci and more.
Carnival Celebration’s destination offerings echo its ports of call in the Caribbean and the City of Miami, where the line was established 50 years ago.
In additional, the ship’s tropical feel is brought to life through an assortment of brands that take guests on a journey and inspire wanderlust.
The brands include: Mavrans, Pitusa, Alma Weaving, Sal de Aqui, My Ocean, Tagua and Nopalera.
Elsewhere, the ship will offer eight distinct collections celebrating Carnival’s 50th Birthday.
Alongside a special collection from famed Miami-based artist Romero Britto, the collections cover: Miami Celebration, Heroes, Carnival/Sprayground collaboration, Ruby and Sapphire, Signature Hull and Key Collectors.
