Starboard makes C-level appointments as it rides next wave of growth

LVMH-owned Starboard Cruise Services has announced two appointments to its senior leadership team.

Mike Hunssinger Turek and Perla Fernandez – both existing employees of Starboard Cruise Services – have been promoted to the positions of Chief Commercial Officer and Chief Financial Officer, respectively.

Reporting to President and Chief Executive Officer Lisa Bauer, Turek and Fernandez will assist the cruise travel retailer to quicken future growth, innovation, and enrich the onboard experiences it offers to guests.

RICH THREAD OF EXPERIENCE

Turek joined Starboard in 2019 as Vice President, Business Performance and Analysis.

Prior to this, he held numerous roles at Carnival Cruise Line including as Vice President of Carnival Adventures where he oversaw tour programmes across the Caribbean and increased net revenue by introducing bundles and seasonal pricing.

He has also held a number of roles in revenue management at Royal Caribbean Group and was a former employee at basketball team Miami Heat.

Fernandez has been with Starboard for 20 years, during which time she has assumed various finance and accounting roles within the company with responsibility for general accounting, financial and capital planning, budget management, data analytics, corporate reporting, cruise line contractual negotiations, financial models and agreements.

She has also led retail teams as a General Manager.

Prior to joining Starboard, Fernandez was a Senior Auditor at Ernst & Young LLP.
