Specialist on-board retail business company Retail inMotion has announced today that Stefan Patermann has been appointed as its new Chief Executive Officer.

 

Formerly holding the position of Chief Commercial Officer, Patermann will now oversee all the business activities of Retail inMotion and all other onboard retail efforts of the LSG Group falling under company’s brand umbrella.

 

This promotion follows Patermann’s arrival at the company nearly four years ago, when he first began leading the RiM/LSG integration after the first shares in the company were acquired by the LSG Group.

Commenting on the appointment, Erdmann Rauer, CEO of the LSG Group said: “Retail inMotion plays an important role in the strategic direction and transformation of the LSG Group. We are confident that Stefan is exceptionally qualified to continue leading Retail inMotion to achieve its full, global potential.”

 

Patermann’s new position sees him succeed Joe Elias – the original founder of Retail inMotion – and Rauer says the team has been improving the passenger inflight experience since Elias first founded the company way back in 2004.

 

He added: “Since that time, we’ve been able to transform and expand under Joe’s dedicated leadership.

 

“He poured his passion into Retail inMotion and redefined the company from a small start-up team into a globally recognized, end-to-end onboard retail service provider, with nearly 200 employees and contracts across the globe.

 

“Joe’s unique problem solving and innovative approach to business has resulted in the foundation of RiM’s unique culture and has totally revolutionized the aviation onboard retail industry. Joe might be stepping back as CEO, but we are delighted that he will continue on with the LSG Group in a retail consulting and advisory role.

 

“I would like to extend a sincere commendation to Dr. Joe Elias for the passion and commitment with which he has developed his business idea into a uniquely-positioned key player in our industry.
