Eco-conscious companies are taking part in four Sustainability Pitch sessions over the course of Travel Retail Sustainability Week (19-23 April).

The groundbreaking Sustainability Pitch programme unveiled yesterday on day one of Travel Retail Sustainability Week (19-23 April), the DF&TR industry’s inaugural virtual event focused exclusively on sustainability.

Nestlé and Silent Pool Gin were both honoured with the five-star ‘Sustainability Hero’ accolade, while Lego Group and Altia were each credited with the four-star ‘Sustainability Trailblazer’ title during the broadcast at 11:30am (UK BST).

Silent Pool Gin: Sustainability Initiatives at Silent Pool Gin

TRBusiness would like to extend its sincere congratulations to all Pitch participants for partaking in the initiative, which is designed to give companies a unique opportunity to showcase their sustainable products, services and/or corporate sustainability strategies within duty free and channel retail.

All will be able to showcase the Sustainability Hero and Trailblazer logos, which will serve as a convenient reference for travelling consumers at the same time as offering essential recognition of their environmentally conscious approaches.

The Sustainability Pitch sessions are assessed by 25 judges with an eclectic background of travel retail experience. Each judge was tasked with evaluating each pitch based on specific guidelines, such as the initiative’s impact on the environment, corporate approach to sustainability and consumer reaction.

Following each Pitch, a short Q&A session will ensue between the judges and pitching company.

Judges were impressed by Altia’s pitch, particularly the company’s clear goals and its focus on employees.

TRBusiness would also like to pay a special thank you to all our Sustainability Pitch judges, pitch partner companies, premium partners and viewers for tuning in for the first Sustainability Pitch session of Travel Retail Sustainability Week.

Please ensure you return for the second Sustainability Pitch session on day two (20 April) of Travel Retail Sustainability Week. The following Pitch companies and initiatives are set to feature:

Fraas: Good for you, Good for our planet

Moroccanoil: A Sustainability Journey

Puressentiel: The Puressentiel Sustainability Story
