Travel Retail Sustainability Week (19-23 April) will reach a crescendo on Friday 23 April with a compelling one-on-one interview with KPMG’s Anson Bailey.

TRBusiness is delighted to announce two additional sessions to the inaugural Travel Retail Sustainability Week (19-23 April) in a fitting conclusion to the event’s extremely successful programme.

Rounding off the daily educational webinar sessions, Anson Bailey, Head of Consumer & Retail, ASPAC and Head of Technology, Media & Telecoms, Hong Kong at KPMG will address viewers in the closing keynote session, entitled: ‘Living in a more sustainable world’, on Friday 23 April at 11:30am (UK BST).

Bailey will reveal the latest KPMG insights on sustainability from a consumer and investor perspective and discuss key drivers towards sustainable finance.

He will also share his thoughts on how companies need to rethink supply chains to create a more sustainable future and highlight the ‘perfect storm’ emerging across supply chains as a result of more socially aware consumers and investors.

Debate will centre on how new technologies are helping to increase transparency across the origins and production of goods and, in turn, how companies need to refresh their processes.

Corporates are now paying more attention to ‘greening’ their supply chains and setting in place new ‘net zero’ targets.

In this context, Bailey will challenge companies on how are they are going to achieve such stated goals in the future and will focus on the next generation of stakeholders including shareholders, bankers, regulators, media, consumers and even employees.

EARTH DAY: WATCH THE LIVE STREAM

In a dual announcement recognising the celebrations around world Earth Day, held today and each year on 22 April, TRBusiness will be streaming the live feed from the Earth Day Live event directly through the Travel Retail Sustainability Week platform.

Earth Day was an important component in the decision to host Travel Retail Sustainability Week.

As such, TRBusiness has partnered with earthday.org, the event organiser, to bring the spectacle to the global travel retail sector dovetailing with the industry’s own sustainability event.

The live feed will commence immediately after the close of the ‘Purpose Driven Consumption’ session on Thursday 22 April at 18:00 UK time.

Earth Day marks its 51st edition this year and together with the website host involves 150,000 partners from around the world taking part in the five-hour livestream event to celebrate the organisation’s work and opportunity to ‘Restore Our Earth’, the event’s theme for 2021.

Earth Day aims “to build global support for climate restoration and a sustainable green economy so we can emerge from the pandemic stronger and healthier”, according to the organiser.

In 2020, the 50th anniversary of Earth Day, the livestream was viewed by 20 million people around the world. More information can be found on the website by clicking here.

To view the stream, log into the TravelRetailSustainabilityWeek.com platform and register for the session here.

We look forward to you joining us for this closing keynote on Friday and please enjoy the Earth Day live stream.

The closing keynote session is kindly sponsored by Aer Rianta International, Brown-Forman, Coty and Mondelez International.

TRBusiness would once again like to extend a very special thank you to all of its Premium Partners for making Travel Retail Sustainability Week a reality (see below).
