Groupe ADP member TAV Airports Holding has made several changes to its leadership team, with Chief Executive Officer Sani Şener set to retire to take up the role of Deputy Chairman of the Board.

In his place, Deputy CEO Serkan Kaptan has been appointed as the new CEO of TAV Airports, which operates 15 airports – including five in Turkey – across eight countries.

He has 25 years’ experience in aviation and public-private partnership infrastructure projects and has served as Deputy CEO since 2016.

Kaptan joined TAV Airports in 1998 with the build-operate-transfer (BOT) of Istanbul Atatürk Airport, which ended commercial flight operations in 2019 when operations shifted to Istanbul Airport.

Meanwhile, Deputy CEO Franck Mereyde is named Executive Board Member and Burcu Geriş retains her responsibilities as CFO while adding Deputy CEO to her remit.

As a Member of the Board of Directors, Geriş has been with TAV Airports since 2005 and was appointed CFO in 2012 and Vice President in 2013.

She was named as one of Turkey’s 50 most influential CFOs between 2016-2022.

Franck Mereyde joins the Executive Board and fellow Board Member Burcu Geriş will retain her responsibilities as CFO while adding Deputy CEO to her remit.

TAV Airports CEO Sani Şener said: “During the last 25 years, we managed to create a globally acclaimed brand in airport operations. Today we are happy to announce the changes in our management team, which is part of our meticulously planned succession plan and which will shape the future of our company.

“Our Deputy CEO since 2016, Serkan Kaptan, who took over important responsibilities at the company since the beginning, will be appointed as CEO. I’ll continue supporting the strategic orientation of the company in my capacity as the Deputy Chairman of the Board.”
