Dufry Group, Qatar Duty Free, Coccinelle and Imperial Brands are the latest companies to confirm their intention to participate at the returning TFWA Cannes event.

Dufry Group, Qatar Duty Free, Coccinelle and Imperial Brands are the latest companies to confirm their intention to participate at this year’s Tax Free World Exhibition & Conference in Cannes.

The event, which will unite DF&TR professionals from around the world is due to take place at the Palais des Festivals from 24 to 28 October, subject to the global health situation not deteriorating.

Andrea Belardini, Chief Commercial Officer, Dufry said: “The TFWA Cannes event is an institution and a fixture in our calendar that we greatly missed last year for its huge networking benefits.

“We very much hope that this year we will finally be able to reunite with our brand and airport partners and continue to rebuild our industry after this difficult time.”

Thabet Muslah, Vice President Operations, Qatar Duty Free added: “It was very important for Qatar Duty Free, established in 2000, to be part of the TFWA family of suppliers and operators to contribute to the mission for the global duty free and travel retail industry to prosper.

OPPORTUNITY TO DO BUSINESS

“Each year we attend the TFWA events in Cannes and Singapore where, undoubtedly, a large proportion of our business with our suppliers is done.

“We expect the same for Cannes this year. It has never been more important for us to come together as an industry at TFWA to explore and agree strategies to grow our collective business as travel continues to rebound from the ongoing pandemic.”

Delegates have until 7 October to register for this year’s Tax Free World Association Exhibition & Conference  at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes.

Giorgio Lepratto, Head of Travel Retail & Global E-Commerce, Coccinelle, described the TFWA World Exhibition & Conference as the event for our industry. “In late October, it should give all of us the opportunity to gather together after such a long time.
During this tough phase we have been working tirelessly on the next Coccinelle, shaping a brand able to meet desires of current and new customers when the market will be finally ready again.

“We look forward to sharing our developments with the travel retail partners in Cannes, confirming how this channel will continue to be pivotal in the future of our company.”

Those unable to attend to the event will be able to view the conference via the association’s new TFWA 365 digital platform.

Christian Münstermann, General Manager, Global Duty Free & Export, Imperial Brands says the company is very much looking forward to TFWA Cannes this year. “We have waited a long time for the moment when we can meet with our close industry partners in person once again at this iconic annual event.

The past year has been particularly challenging for the entire global duty free industry, therefore we believe it is now more important than ever to revitalise key networks, so that we can successfully shape a brighter future by working closely with key partners — together as one.”

RETAILERS AND BRANDS COMMIT TO CANNES

Jaya Singh, President, TFWA concluded: “It’s incredibly heartening to see the number of companies bound for Cannes continuing to swell and we’re thankful for the support from Dufry, Qatar Duty Free, Coccinelle and Imperial Brands.

“The commitment of all brands and retail partners to TFWA World Exhibition & Conference will help strengthen our efforts to host the best possible event for duty free and travel retail professionals in the current circumstances. We’re very much looking forward to seeing all of you again at the Palais.”
