TFWA World Exhibition 2024 attracts 7,456 visitors, reveal figures

TFWA World Exhibition & Conference 2024 in Cannes attracted a total of 7,456 visitors.
This year’s Tax Free World Association (TFWA) World Exhibition & Conference in Cannes draw 7,456 visitors and 462 exhibiting brands, the association has confirmed.
The outcome represents a 1% rise compared with last year’s reported figure of 7,385 and is just shy of the record 7,531 visitors recorded in 2019.
More than half (52%) of visitors were from Europe, taking the lion’s share of representation, followed by Asia (25%), the Middle East (9%), the Americas (9%), Africa (4%) and Oceania (1%).
On a country level, France and the UK sent the most delegates at 689 and 592, respectively.
Of the total visitors to the industry’s showpiece event this year, approximately 2,684 (36%) were buyers.

Board shakeup
Europe accounted for the highest share of exhibitors (82%), followed by the Americas (8%) and the Middle East, and Asia (both 5%).
Around one third (33%) of those exhibitors were stakeholders in the beauty segment, leading the representation among the categories.
This was followed by one quarter (25%) of exhibitors active in the wines, spirits, beers and non-alcohol beverages segment.
As reported at the closing press conference on Thursday 3 October, TFWA revealed a shakeup of its Board with Jean-Pierre Bombet, Erin Lillis and Loukia Alepochoriti replacing Frédéric Garcia-Pelayo, Donatienne de Fontaines-Guillaume and Arnaud de Volontat.
At the same time, existing Board member Sam Gerber has declared he will run for the Presidency this year.
