The Macallan sparkles with Diamonds Are Forever 55th Anniversary release

Edrington has unveiled a new single malt Scotch whisky from The Macallan. Crafted by Whisky Maker Russell Greig, The Macallan Diamonds Are Forever 55th Anniversary release is priced at US$750.
The limited-edition expression will be available at select locations around the world, including The Macallan Boutique at Heathrow Airport Terminal 5 – operated in partnership with Avolta – which will be the sole GTR point of sale from 3 to 16 February.
The whisky will subsequently roll out to The Macallan’s other airport boutiques worldwide from 17 February.
Marking 55 years since the famous Bond film lit up the silver screen, The Macallan Diamonds Are Forever 55th Anniversary release aims to celebrate the fictional spy’s connoisseurship of sherry and red wine, through a shared appreciation for craftsmanship, innovation and storytelling.
It follows on from The Macallan James Bond 60th Anniversary Release (2022).
The Macallan celebrates cinematic legacy
The Macallan Diamonds Are Forever 55th Anniversary release was distilled in 2(007) and matured for 18 years. Bespoke hybrid casks – crafted from sherry seasoned European and American oak – are complemented with the novel inclusion of casks made from American oak, which previously held red wine.
This selection reflects moments in the film, where Bond’s command of wine allows him to uncover vital clues.
On the nose, the expression presents polished oak, vanilla bean, and rich dried fruits. The palate opens with layers of caramel and cocoa-dusted truffles, revealing fruit-driven complexity and a hint of nutmeg. The finish is long and refined.
The natural colour whisky is bottled at 45.5% ABV. The design of the bottle and presentation pack draws directly from the Diamonds Are Forever production art in the official Bond archives.
