BAA airports pax affected by Olympics fever


BAA airports report a 4.1% decline in passenger traffic to 9.6m in July YOY.


Heathrow airport experienced a slightly steeper decline of 4.4% to 6.6m passengers. And although domestic traffic at the hub airport saw an increase of 1.2% compared with last year, European scheduled traffic, significantly affected by the Olympics, fell 6.6%.

Mexico’s ASUR sees huge hike in DF revenues


Revenues from the duty free and travel retail stores of Mexican airport group ASUR (Grupo Aeroportuario del Sureste) grew by +28.2% in the first half of the year, outperforming almost all other contributors to the group’s commercial revenue stream and increasing revenue per pax by +14.0%.

Dufry continues redevelopment at Chicago airport with new T5 store


The new Dufry store, which celebrated its grand opening on 4 August in Terminal 5, boasts new luxury offerings for international travellers, including a larger selection of a wide range of specialty foods, liquor, perfume and beauty products.


The new store is part of a large-scale redevelopment of the airport’s retail and F&B concessions, managed by Westfield.
