LSTR raises $102,421-plus for Action Against Hunger

LS Travel Retail has raised more than €80,000 ($102,421) for Action Against Hunger (ACF – Action contre la Faim) across its stores in three countries.

 

The campaign offered passengers the chance to support the charity by making a donation as they went through the check out process, so helping the Action Against Hunger teams to strengthen their programmes among groups suffering from malnutrition, especially among children – its first victims.

TFWA/APTRA China Conference gains momentum

TFWA and APTRA (Asia Pacific Travel Retail Association) report that their joint China conference in Beijing is attracting some very big prestigious names as participants.

 

The latest confirmed additions to the programme include keynote presentations by Lu Lu, President, China Duty Free Group (CDFG) on day one (see Sanya operation above) and Andrew Wu, LVMH Group President for Greater China on the second day. Both TFWA and APTRA say that this prestigious conference is aimed solidly at industry stakeholders who are intent on developing their businesses in China.

Can ADP’s retail revenues top €100m this quarter?

Despite slow passenger traffic growth, Aéroports de Paris has continued to see rising retail sales this year with third quarter retail revenues reaching €95m (US$122m), putting the Paris airports operator in touching distance of €100m in Q4.

 

In the first nine months of the year, ADP’s retail revenue (rents received from shops, bars and restaurants, advertising, banking and  foreign exchange activities, and car rental) rose strongly by +12.9% against the same period in 2011 to €259m (see bar chart below), whereas traffic climbed by just +1.3%. On a quarterly basis the retail breakdown was: Q1: €75m (Q1), €89 (Q2), and €95m (Q3).
