The debut listing of the new EcoJourney backpack will be at Düsseldorf Airport.

Travel Blue has partnered with Gebr. Heinemann to introduce its new EcoJourney backpack to the global travel retail channel, with the first listing debuting at Düsseldorf Airport.

The launch marks the latest chapter in the long-standing relationship between the two companies, which spans more than 25 years, and reflects growing demand for premium travel accessories that combine functionality, sustainability and contemporary design.

Part of Travel Blue’s Traveller Collection, the EcoJourney backpack has been developed for modern travellers seeking a versatile carry-on solution that balances professional styling with practical features. Designed with business travellers in mind, the backpack includes a dedicated padded laptop compartment, smart internal organisers, a side shoulder strap and carry-on straps featuring hidden main strap technology. Its dimensions have also been tailored to fit within the overhead cabin compartments of most airlines.

Made from 100% recycled nylon, the EcoJourney backpack forms part of Travel Blue’s wider sustainability strategy and its Our Blue Way initiative, through which the company has recycled the equivalent of more than 42 million 500ml plastic water bottles. The new product is positioned towards younger travellers, particularly Gen Z consumers, who are increasingly seeking products that combine environmental credentials with everyday functionality.

The backpack is available at a recommended retail price of US$119.90 and will be rolled out across selected travel retail locations globally following its initial launch with Gebr. Heinemann.

Gebr. Heinemann Accessories Buyer Oliver Kölln said: “We are delighted to be among the first retailers to bring the EcoJourney backpack to travellers. The Travel Blue portfolio has the strength and depth to engage all travellers and drive sales, as passenger buying patterns shift.”

Travel Blue Managing Director Daniel Levin added: “Our long-standing partnership with Gebr. Heinemann makes them the perfect partner for this global launch. The travel essentials category is growing consistently as shoppers across all age groups seek to fulfil immediate travel needs, while also investing in thoughtfully designed, higher-value products that enhance their journey.

“The EcoJourney backpack is part of our highly successful backpack range. It is lightweight, affordably priced and made from high-quality materials, fitting exactly with Gen Z’s functionality and value demands.”

The launch further strengthens Travel Blue’s position within the travel accessories category and highlights the increasing importance of sustainable product innovation as retailers look to meet evolving traveller expectations.

All Travel Blue backpacks are backed by a three-year global warranty, underlining the company’s focus on quality, durability and long-term performance.
