A selection of duty free and travel retail (DF&TR) stakeholders recognised in this year’s Global Travel Retail Awards are highlighting how earning the coveted seal of approval from consumers is impacting their business in the channel.

Building on the list of Finalists announced in August, the Highly Recommended and Winner accolades were revealed at a glittering ceremony on 3 October at the Hôtel Martinez in Cannes, coinciding with the TFWA World Exhibition & Conference.

Organised by TRBusiness with data partner m1nd-set, the Travel Retail Awards is the DF&TR industry’s only awards programme that’s judged entirely by consumers.

This year’s edition drew a 38% rise in the number of entries compared with 2022, with a bumper influx of product entries and an impressive number of consumer-conscious stakeholders being attracted by the refreshed lineup of promotion and CSR awards.

As well as amplifying the success of activations and initiatives in the channel, research has shown that achieving Travel Retail Awards recognition can help products to stand out on the shelves.

Insights by m1nd-set show that 22% of consumers are more likely to purchase a product displaying the ‘Voted by Shoppers’ Finalist logo, while nearly a third (31%) of consumers are more likely to purchase a product displaying the ‘Voted by Shoppers’ Winner logo.

All those recognised are encouraged to maximise their successes by promoting the ‘Voted by Shoppers’ logo on product packaging, marketing materials and at the point of sale.
