Sheremetyevo International Airport has announced TRBusiness as the winner in the ‘Free Trade Zone’ (international media) category at the 7th ShereMedia Awards held in Moscow on 27 June.

Administered by the airport, the ShereMedia Awards are bestowed upon ‘the best journalists who have made a considerable contribution to and noticeable mark in the information space’ and to outlets ‘that have proven to be trustworthy and authoritative sources’ in the air transport industry.

Winners are selected by an expert committee consisting of eminent professionals in the fields of communications and aviation.

TRBusiness is in stellar company among a list of 24 media winners, which include the likes of Russia Today, Forbes, Business Traveller, Airport World magazine and TV channel Russia 24.

During the ceremony in Moscow, which drew senior managers from the airport and its subsidiaries together with industry experts, leading bloggers and sections of the business and consumer press, Andrei Nikulin, First Deputy General Director Production of JSC SIA said: “The ShereMedia Award is a significant event in the lives of journalists who specialise in topics directly related to the transport industry. Evidence of this is the best representatives of industry journalism and a jury of recognised experts.

The 7th ShereMedia Awards ceremony was held at the Svetly restaurant in Moscow on 27 June.

“For Sheremetyevo, the award is a great opportunity to see yourself as if in a mirror, to receive the most valuable feedback, sometimes even the sharp criticism necessary for the development of the airport that aspires to be the best in everything. And the fact that our airport for many years is among the leaders of many authoritative ratings in Europe and around the world is a huge merit.”

Russian and foreign airlines operating flights from the airport sponsored the awards.
