TRBusiness owners announce Luke Barras-Hill will join Board of Directors
By Trb Editor |
The owners of TRBusiness are delighted to announce that Luke Barras-Hill will be joining the Board of Directors, as he adopts the role of Editorial Director, effective 1 February. He will report directly to TRBusiness CEOs and co-owners, Nigel Hardy and Janice Hook.
This follows news published in December, that current Editorial Director Charlotte Turner, will leave the company at the end of January to pursue a new challenge with drinks giant Pernod Ricard Global Travel Retail.
On 1 February, Barras-Hill, currently Managing Editor – e-zine, will become Editorial Director, responsible for overseeing TRBusiness’ publishing strategy across a fast-growing portfolio comprising its news service, events, multimedia content and social media activity.
With more than 12 years’ experience, Barras-Hill has held senior editorial positions across a variety of B2B publications covering the international luxury goods markets, including travel retail and duty free, in addition to the public realm and built environment sectors.
He became e-zine Managing Editor in 2021 having joined TRBusiness in 2017 as Deputy Editor.
“We are really delighted to be announcing Luke’s appointment to the Board today,” said TRBusiness Owners Nigel Hardy and Janice Hook.
“His promotion to the Board both reflects and acknowledges the significant contribution that he has delivered since he started with the company and underlines how highly we value him.
“We look forward to his input as a member of the Board in addition to his publishing duties as Editorial Director and know that he will be a talented addition to an already strong leadership team.

With more than 12 years’ experience, Barras-Hill has held senior editorial positions across a variety of B2B publications.
“This year will see some exciting developments at TRBusiness, and Luke will be at the forefront of seeing these through to fruition.”
Previously, Barras-Hill was Managing Editor for African Review of Business & Technology where he oversaw strategic planning and content delivery of the continent’s longest-running high-circulation technical magazine and its companion website dedicated to business, FDI, construction, power and mining.
Prior to this, he was Business & Finance Editor and Acting Editor at Frontier magazine and has worked in cities such as London and Shanghai since his days at journalism college.
“It is a huge honour to join the Board of Directors and I’d like to pay a special thank you to company owners Nigel Hardy and Janice Hook for their unswerving support and guidance since I joined TRBusiness in 2017,” said Barras-Hill.
“A company is only as good as its people, as the old saying goes, and I consider myself incredibly fortunate to work with such an energetic, talented, passionate and close-knit team.
“The challenges facing the industry and our company over the last few years have been significant. Yet, the ingenuity we’ve demonstrated in forging new, successful concepts – particularly within our events division – for stakeholders as we negotiate the recovery, is unmatched in my view.
“We have an exciting pipeline of developments across our event and publishing arms that will deliver best value to the industry this year and beyond, and I look forward to supporting that drive together with our remarkable team, including my fellow Director Ben Webb, and the company’s owners.”
